SUNNY 1220 to Broadcast Sarasota
Millionaires Football
Coming off the successful debut of Lakewood Ranch High School football game
broadcasts in 2006, SUNNY 1220 AM / WIBQ-Sarasota is partnering with the
SARASOTA Millionaires, to bring you LIVE action from the Southern States
Football League (SSFL) every Saturday night beginning January 13, 2007.
Doug Miles and Ed Schneider are once again teaming
up to bring you all the play-by-play and analysis of Sarasota's first
professional football team in 30 years.
All games are available on the World Wide Web by simply going to
www.newstalk1220.com and clicking
"Listen Live" on the Home Page.
The brainchild of team owners Calvin and Bethsaida Williams, the Millionaires
will play a 10 game schedule beginning with this Saturday night's inaugural home
game against the Treasure Coast Pirates at Tornado Alley on the campus of Booker
High School.
All games are scheduled to kickoff at 7:05pm. Tickets are only $5 each in
advance and $7 at the gate. For ticket information, go to the Millionaires
website at:
http://www.sarasotamillionaires.com/
Games will include a Home and Home series with Division rival, the Bradenton
Gladiators, who went all the way to the league championship game last year in
their inagural Season, with additional road tilts including trips to Miami,
Jacksonville, West Palm Beach and Fort Myers.
Williams, who played on a Bradenton Southeast's State Championship
team with Peter Warrick, has played on several semi-pro teams in recent
years, and will see plenty of action at running back this season for the
Millionaires.
Doug Miles and Ed Schneider interviewed Head Coach Gerald
Binton and Offensive Coordinator Harry Reif during a live remote at Ref's
Sports Grill in Sarasota on Monday as part of the Florida-Ohio State BCS
Championship game tailgate party broadcast from 4-6pm on Sunny 1220, and both
coaches promised an exciting brand of football for the fans.
Coach Binton direct the Defense and expects to play an attacking defensive style
with plans for lots of penetration by the front seven into the backfield to
disrupt the running game and apply pressure on the passing game to create
turnovers for an opportunistic secondary.
Coach Reif handles the Offense and is looking forward to utilizing the athletic
talents of their skill position players to keep Defenses off balance by
spreading the ball around to generate big plays. Look for 4 and 5 receiver sets
with lots of rollouts and moving pockets by the Quarterbacks to put pressure on
the edge that will spread the field and ultimately open up running lanes for
their speedy backs.
With 13 teams in the league, the Sarasota Millionaires will be working hard
each week to earn their way into the post-season playoffs, which culminates in
the Rice Bowl scheduled for April 28th at Orlando's Citrus Bowl.
Join Sunny 1220 and the Sarasota Millionaires as we make history this season.

Sincerely,
Ed Schneider
